Serving Cleveland's Entrepreneurs since 1956
More than half a century ago, Jay Iglauer, newly retired vice president and treasurer of Halle Brothers Company, shared his vision with 22 other retirees. He dreamed of combining their experience and talent to help others achieve the same success they had achieved. He thought their charitable work would ultimately benefit the entire Cleveland community.

Eager to put their experience to work in this way, the original 23 members found over 50 others who shared their vision. In 1956 they created the Cleveland Senior Council. From its inception, the council’s mission was to provide business advice and counseling to public and private, large and small, for-profit and not-for-profit companies and organizations.

In 1996, the council changed its name to Business Advisers of Cleveland to better reflect what had become its focus: counseling small businesses and start-ups.

Currently, over 50 members, men and women, mostly retired from successful careers but some still working, annually help several hundred BAC clients transform their business dreams into reality.
